On Friday 20th September Salford Youth Alliance were invited to attend the fantastic 2019 Salford Sports Awards hosted by Salford Sports Network at the amazing Lowry Hotel.

The evening was to celebrate a vast range of people who support sport and physical activity across Salford. Nominations were made for the following awards: Sports Achiever of the year, Community Club of the year, Disabled Sports Achiever, Changing Lifestyles Award, Unsung Hero in Sport, Coach of the year, Tommy Curran Special Recognition to Sport, PE in Sport Primary School of the year, Junior Team of the year and Senior Team of the year.

The evening had guest speaker Kenton Cool – an explorer, adventurer and mountaineer who fascinated the audience with his inspiring stories of being an adventurer and climbing up Everest 14 times.

Salford Youth Alliance sponsored the prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award, which a number of our hardworking volunteers were nominated for.

The Final Three were

  • Rob Wilson (representing Winton Wanderers FC)
  • Lisa Allen (representing Cadishead Sports JFC),
  • Marissa Chaplin (representing Cadishead Rhinos ARLFC)

With the winner being Rob Wilson representing Winton Wanderers FC

Below are a few images from the evening from a rather wonderful and enjoyable evening where Salford Youth Alliance was able to celebrate the volunteers we work with and all of the nominees for the awards.

A big credit goes to Paul Thomas from Salford Community Leisure who organised a wonderful event for all winners, nominees and guests. Thank You.
